The Delhi Metro is fairly new to the city and is in fact still in the process of expansion. It is one of the fastest way to commute in Delhi and has transformed public transport in the city so much so that the Metro line has become the lifeline of New Delhi.

Metro Train timings :
At any given point of time you don't need to wait for your train for more than 12 minutes at any Station. The trains are pretty frequent and this is one of the best ways to go to a specific destination.
Metro Trains are available from 0600 hours to 2300 hours.

Comming Soon :
By the end of 2010, the whole of Delhi will be made accessible by metro and a line from the Indira Gandhi Airport will be in place. A high speed line to be constructed by DMRC would operate between New Delhi Railway station and Dwarka Sector 21 and would cater to Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan NH8 (Mahipalpur station ) and IGI station (Terminal 3). The trains will operate at a frequency of 10 min, between 0500 hrs & 0100 hrs only.

Safety & Security :
The compartments are fully automatic with gates being operated automatically and there are emergency exits in the train. You can communicate with the driver of the train at any point in case of an emergency. Each and every station of Delhi Metro has sufficient parking space to provide hassle free commuting where people can park their vehicles and use the metro service.
